Abstract

Abstract: In the present generation, internet users frequently provide their valuable personal credentials[1] to social networking websites, often without fully understanding the potential long-term consequences. Many users do not verify essential details such as the platform’s ownership, leadership team, corporate background, security policies, or data protection standards—either at the time of registration or as the platform evolves over time. In social websites, vast amounts of user information[2] are collected under an umbrella of trust[3]. Users voluntarily share personal details, believing that the platform will safeguard their data responsibly. However, when unauthorized data leaks occur, the digital environment becomes unhealthy from the users’ perspective. Such breaches significantly damage long-term trust and create psychological insecurity among users. In this paper, the perspective of ergonomics[4] is extended to the domain of cybersecurity within Social Networking Systems (SNS). Traditionally concerned with improving human efficiency, safety, and comfort in physical work environments, ergonomics is reinterpreted here to address digital safety, user trust, and data protection in online platforms. The objective is to create an ergonomically balanced cyber environment in which users feel assured, protected, and confident[5] while interacting within social networks.
