THE IMPACT OF FINANCIAL LITERACY AND AWARENESS ON THE INVESTMENT CHOICES OF RETAIL INVESTORS

Investment behavior of retail investors by looking at the factors that influence their financial choices. It aims to understand investor preferences, risk tolerance, investment patterns, and how demographic and psychological factors shape their decisions. Using descriptive research design and non-probability sampling methods, the researchers collected primary data through structured questionnaires from individual investors. The Findings show clear patterns in how retail investors make decisions. These patterns include them preferences for traditional versus modern financial tools, the impact of biases like herd mentality and overconfidence, and the increasing role of digital platforms in investment activities. The study offers useful insights for financial institutions, policy makers, and advisors. Understanding retail investor behavior can help them create strategies, products, and education programs that address the changing needs of investors and encourage more participation in the market.
