A STUDY ON EMPLOYEE JOB SATISFACTION AND WELFARE AT BALAJI IMPEX, TIRUPUR

This article presents an empirical investigation into employee job satisfaction and welfare at Balaji Impex, a garment export firm in Tirupur, Tamil Nadu one of India's foremost textile hubs. Drawing on survey responses from 75 employees, the study examines satisfaction across dimensions including working conditions, compensation, job security, motivational climate, and statutory welfare provisions. Results reveal that approximately 86.7% of respondents are satisfied or highly satisfied with their current roles, while welfare facilities particularly health, sanitation, and safety infrastructure receive strong approval. Likert - scale analysis confirms very high satisfaction with safety equipment (mean score: 4.24) and overall welfare conditions (mean score: 4.24). A chi-square test further establishes that gender does not significantly influence welfare perception (χ² = 1.12, p > 0.05). The study concludes with actionable recommendations to strengthen career development pathways, increment transparency, and participative management, thereby supporting sustainable human resource practices in labour-intensive manufacturing.
