Among diversified coastal localities, Malvan coast found to be one of the marine protected areas (MPA) of Maharashtra because of its rich coral reef and biodiversity. Sea water essential to marine plants and animals to enhance water life hence it has been referred to as a universal solvent to complete marine biota. Present investigation was carried out to access sea water quality of Malvan coast. Water samples were collected from selected seven sampling stations (S1 to S7) for the monsoon¸ pre-monsoon and post-monsoon in the duration of Feb, 2023 to Jan, 2025. Water analysis showed that physicochemical parameters were found fluctuated because of seasonal climatic conditions and also with anthropogenic activities. Physicochemical parameters like Potential of Hydrogen (pH), Conductance¸ Turbidity¸ Salinity¸ Dissolved Oxygen (DO)¸Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD)¸ Total Hardness¸ Total Dissolved Solids (TDS)¸ Concentration of Ammonia (NH3) ¸ Inorganic Phosphate (PO4), Total Suspended Solids (TSS) were analysed and interpreted for the animal diversity and its impact on their survivability related to biodiversity conservation point of view.
