A camperative study of anxiety coping mechanisms across gender
Anxiety, Coping Mechanisms, Gender Differences, Mental Health
Anxiety is a prevalent psychological condition that affects individuals across different age
groups, particularly young adults. Coping mechanisms play a vital role in managing anxiety
and maintaining mental well-being. This study aims to examine and compare anxiety coping
strategies across genders. A quantitative comparative research design was adopted, and data
were collected from 56 respondents using a structured questionnaire. The findings reveal that
individuals use a variety of coping strategies, including problem-focused, emotion-focused,
and avoidance coping. Gender-based differences were observed in emotional expression,
social support, and problem-solving approaches. The study highlights the need for gender-
sensitive interventions to promote effective coping strategies and improve mental health
outcomes.
